With the variety of dips, finishes and cuff lengths, how to choose a suitable PVC glove for the chemical task at hand? Some factors to consider are:
Thicker double dipped coatings provide greater resistance to chemicals and mechanical damage while a single dip allows better dexterity and grip. If certain components of the task have greatly differing requirements, it may be necessary to use a few types of gloves simultaneously.
Extra-length gloves may be required when dealing with large volumes of liquid which may slop over the top of a shorter glove. Ideally the sleeve of the protective clothing and the top of the glove should overlap as stretching forward can leave parts of the arm exposed.
WORKING CONDITIONS – WET OR OILY?
When working in wet or oiling conditions, textured surface finishes provide a more secure grip. Our PVC gloves are available in a smooth (red PVC), sand textured (green PVC) or rough-chip (black PVC) finish.
The EN 388 shield featured on the PVC glove indicates its ability to protect against mechanical damage. The higher the EN 388 rating, the higher the resistance to abrasion, puncture, tear and cut.
